The EndASUUstrike protest that started last week with many students of Obafemi Awolowo University blocking the Ife-Ibadan expressway has continued ever since.
The riff between ASUU and the Federal Government has not been solved even after the subsequent protests from OAU and numerous other Federal universities ( UNIBEN and UNILAG last 2 weeks) continued again this week but the students vouch to continue the protest until their voices are heard.
Recall that: Obafemi Awolowo University Students Join The EndASUUstrike Protest, Prayed On The Road
Early today, the protesters of Obafemi Awolowo University came out in their numbers to mount road blocks preventing all motorists from completing their journey. The road blocks were mounted on the only two routes through OAU, Ibadan road which is a major transportation road and Ede road.

This led to a long queue of buses, long vehicles, cars and even motorcycles. While some commercial drivers tried to find all means to boycott the road blocks through the alternative routes from the local streets nearby (roads which aren’t most favorable for any driver to pass through) others were held up in the queue right in front of the road blocks. As per reports, the protest didn’t only rock the major roads around OAU but also extended to Oduduwa University Ipetumodu (OUI) roundabout.
Other roads like Ilesha-Akure roads have also been blocked today by FUTA students holding placards, chanting in solidarity as they blocked the major highway at the FUTA main gate as well as at the Roadblock axis of the highway.
The only response FG has been giving are appeals that give temporary solutions rather than permanent ones to the prolonged strike.
