The 2022 FIFA World Cup could have been more memorable if it had been hosted here in Nigeria. Imagine all the challenging adventures awaiting visitors and football teams in the country cited as “The Giant Of Africa.” If Nigeria hosted the game, there would be much fun and drama. There would be a fun part of the experience, unlike any other country. To give you a better picture, here are the things that could have happened if Nigeria had hosted the World Cup.

    1. NEPA Would Do Their Usual Thing At The Airport

There is no exception as to where the Nigeria electricity distribution cannot fall your hand. Honestly, the airports should be the last place to experience the instability in the country’s regular electricity supply. It would be an immense discomfort for the number of visitors that come to Nigeria for the game. That first welcoming impression of darkness will happen at some point, if not at the airport.

    2. Messi and Ronaldo Could be Kidnapped

It wouldn’t be shocking when the breaking news on tv says there’s a ransom demanded for the release of the top players, Messi and Ronaldo, of this century to be released from notorious kidnappers in Nigeria. If you think about what I am trying to show you, the price on their heads will be multiple zeros.

    3. Hotels Would Turn Wire Wire

If the World Cup had been hosted in Nigeria, spectators and visitors worldwide would need a place to stay. The period is when the Hotel businesses would have been in high demand, and the inflated prices for rooms will be equally higher. The unusual rise in the new population in the region will be a scam!

    4. Some Teams Could Miss Their Matches Because Of Traffic

While there shouldn’t be any reason football teams should spend their nights in the stadium before the game, it might be a good idea to escape the terrible traffic jam on Nigerian roads. Due to many factors; such as bad roads and unlawful Nigerian road users, the world cup schedules might be delayed for as long as the game lasts.

    5. Agbero Would Run After Football Buses

Do you know how jobless youths (touts) in Nigeria busy themselves pursuing cars on the roads to collect fees and money? There would not be any exception for the buses commuting football teams to their destinations. The harassment from these agberos in their daily routine might be amusing or not, but they will get plenty of them.

    6. Davido Would Invite Ronaldo To Stay In His House Than A Hotel

The famous musician Davido, a.k.a OBO, would have extended his hospitality to GOAT Christiano Ronaldo by making his house available for bookings if the world cup was hosted in Nigeria. But honestly, his home could beat any hotel room in the accommodation department.

    7. Fan Milk Bicycle Parading On The Football Pitch

There’s no big event happening anywhere in Nigeria that you won’t spot the big container mounted on strolling bicycles to keep chilled creamy yoghurts. The world cup is a big game event, and if hosted here in Nigeria, these fan milk people wouldn’t need the invitation to make themselves available to quench their thirst.

    8. Campaign Banners Will Decorate The Stadium

Nigerian politicians are starting their campaigns for the upcoming 2023 elections, and the world cup football game event could have been another avenue to reveal the faces of various party candidates plastered to every stadium wall. The country hosting, if it could have been Nigeria, would have that much advantage.

    9. Street Food Vendors Outside The Stadium

To boost sales, Nigerians offering street fast foods and snacks will get their stalls ready at the entrances and roads to the stadium. The strategy of acquiring goods and marketing out where people could spot them to draw their attention to make a purchase is the norm here. And the new visitors will be curious to try, no doubt there would be a lot of vendors displaying their street treats.

    10. Buhari Will Wish The Teams Good Luck

A press release stating that the almost retiring president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, made a brief scripted speech and a good luck wish for football teams on the game will happen. Remember when Buhari wished the super eagles good luck on the last AFCON game? Football freaks know the story; the Nigerian team made a brutal exit from the game —Haha!

The world cup could’ve been different, if not grand, in Nigeria, agreed? You should tell us one of those laughable things you think might have happened if the World Cup had been hosted in Nigeria!
