According to the Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, both old and new banknotes are now considered legal tender, with commercial banks already issuing both types to their customers.

Old naira notes remain valid till December, says Supreme Court -

Despite this, the apex bank has yet to release an official statement on the matter. Dr. Abdulmumin reassured Nigerians that they can use any banknote given to them by banks, emphasizing the aim of making life easier for the populace.

The recent Supreme Court verdict on the Naira redesign directed the federal government to extend the validity of N200, N500, and N1000 notes until December 31st. Following this ruling, some banks in Abuja and Lagos have reportedly started dispensing old notes to customers, though traders, business owners, and motorists are not accepting them.
