It is undeniable that of the greatest gbagba is a very big University. Of the greatest gbagba is one of the numerous nicknames given to Obafemi Awolowo University. There is a lot of lecture theatres as well as spots where students read. However, despite having a lot of spots to study on OAU campus some spots are popular and are said to be the best by students. We have a lot of study spots but I will only be talking about five of them which are of course the best. The five are chosen based on the opinion of some students.
1) Oduduwa lecture theatres,
The first and the most popular lecture theatre is Oduduwa lecture theatres, popularly known as ODLT 1 and 2. ODLT 1 and 2 is very popular among student, it was even said that those that are not students know ODLT. You don’t know ODLT, then you are not a student even aspirants know ODLT. It is one of the few lecture theatres where you see post UTME students reading. The funny thing is that ODLT both one and two are always crowded except for when school is on holiday. So why are students still going to where they know will be crowded? The answer gotten was that some people like to read where there is noise and some just want to feed their eyes. Also, some students go to ODLT lecture theatres to make new friends because they know a lot of students will be there compared to any other reading spot. And some students read in ODLT because it is closer to the bus stop, for those that are coming from town since they won’t walk much. Over the years,ODLT has become the centre of attraction. Even as a first timer in OAU, one of the places you want to visit or read is ODLT. After all, you already heard a lot about it.
2 Admin Extension
Another study spot that is popular among OAU students is Admin extension, you can say Admin extension is the younger brother of ODLT, As they are both always crowded. Some students prefer to read in Admin extension because the chairs are comfortable for sitting and sleeping compare to other study spots, while some prefer Admin extension because of how bright the place is. And of course, it is always noisy because of the crowd but it doesn’t stop students from studying there. Tutorials also take place there too.
3) Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library
The school library is a great study spot. The school library is the most populated study spot on OAU campus. The school library known as Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library is a big building with a lot of rooms where students study. The library is always silent, with no distractions and no disturbance, just you and your books except you came with friends. As some students love to read where there is noise, a lot of students prefer to study where there is no noise. And in this case, there is no better place than the school library. Although there are restrictions, a lot of students still study in the library. If you don’t have the library card or the school ID card you won’t be allowed into the library, that is aspirants and visitors are not allowed into the library. Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library opens by 8 am and close by 6 pm on weekdays, while Saturdays are 10 am to 4 pm.
4) White House
At the White House, we have the Physics Oven and the Chemistry oven. Just like ODLT and Admin extension, White House oven is also crowded but one thing has always made white house distinct and that is the way the oven is always hot even on cold days.it was said that if you are cold in other study spots, you will never be cold in the white house oven. It is a great spot for reading as you will find a lot of students studying there too and there are a lot of places to read in the white house too.
5) Agriculture lecture theatres
Agriculture lecture theatres are also very good places to read. Agriculture lecture theatres have three lecture theatres which are A, B and C. Although you don’t find a lot of students studying at Agriculture lecture theatres because it is not near, it is undeniably a great spot for reading because of how silent it is and there are not a lot of students around which make assimilation easier.Most times, students that read there are students from the faculty of Agriculture.
