    1.) OBTAIN YOUR VISA


    To travel to Dubai as a Nigerian passport holder, you must obtain a visa, it is very important ( it is not available on arrival in Dubai). And there are several things you should know about your visa, from the timing to the type to the cost.

    For Timing, you must apply 2 weeks to 2 months before your departure date because the validity of your visa is limited to 60 days from the date of issue.

    There are several types of Dubai visas, ranging from the 96-hour visa to the 14-day visa to the 30-day visa to the 90-day visa. The number of hours/days determines the length of each visa. The 96-hour visa, for example, allows you to stay for not more than 96 hours from the date of issue. The 90-day visa is best suited for vacations and leisure activities.

    Because prices vary, you can get whoever you want. Do not budget less than 30,000 naira for your visa.     2.) GET THE RIGHT DOCUMENT

    The following are the basic documents required; however, depending on your visa type, you may require additional ones (based on duration).
    a.) A valid Nigerian passport that is valid for at least 6 months.

    b.) Your well filled visa application form

    c.) Photocopies of your identification card and passport

    d.) Proofs of Health insurance, two-way plane ticket, financial status (your Nigerian bank statement from the last six months indicating you have enough money to live in Dubai), residency, and confirmed itinerary.

    3.) KNOW YOUR TRAVEL TIME

    It’s important you know your travel time to know how long the journey will take, well, your travel time from Lagos is 7 hours 49 minutes, while it takes 7 hours, 11 minutes from Abuja. Be ready to sit for long, prepare, probably movies or games you’ll engage yourself with as you travel.

    4.) COST OF LIVING IN THE SEASON YOU TRAVEL

    It is important you know the cost of living in the summer is different from the cost of living in the winter. You are more frugal with your spending during the summer months and the weather conditions are suitable during this times, winter is the complete opposite.

    5.) HISTORICAL PLACES TO VISIT

    You’re on vacation, so make the most of it, enjoy yourself to the fullest, explore as much as you can. Take pictures and do anything you refer to as fun. You can go to places like Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Museum. Remember to take beautiful pictures too.

    6.) PLAN TO DRESS MODERATELY

    Please plan to dress modestly, remember Dubai is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), you cannot afford to be embarrassed in another man’s country. Cover clothes and decent wears will go a long way.
