The 15th Headies awards have featured Nigerian artiste for nominations and even better awards in different categories and artistes works. If you have noticed, a couple of artistes have been awarded more frequently than others, of course in their best categories, as their works helped favour their wins at the headies award.
Artistes like Olamide and Wizkid have been frequently paraded with awards in the Headies record of awards. Both seem to be the most notable artistes in Nigeria.

10.Darey, 6 Headies
Dare Art Alade, popularly known for his stage name, Darey, is a Nigerian Multi-platinum Afro R&B Singer, songwriter, record producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur who descended from the Legendary African Jazz Musician and entertainer, Art Alade.
Darey emerged the third winner of the continent-wide talent haunt and reality Tv show, Project Fame, in 2004 and since then stealthily risen in fame in the Nigerian music industry. The Headies award started to favour him in 2011— Although Darey hosted the first edition of the award in 2006, which was then called The Hip Hop World Awards before it was renamed The Headies in 2011. So far, Darey has been paraded six times for the Headies award.
Fireboy also has 6 Headies awards like Darey with wins in categories like Album of the year, Best R&B Album, Best Pop Album, Best R&B Single and Hip Hop World Revelation. The 6th one was gotten for “Peru” as Afrobeat Pop Single.
9. 9ice, 6 Headies
Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande, stage-named 9ice, is a Nigerian musician and songwriter and dancer too! 9ice has been known for his influential way of using the Yoruba language in his music, as well as his proverbial verses and distinctive delivery technique.
9ice released his first solo song in 2000, Little Money. His Gongo Aso, released in 2008, helped his fame and name gain popularity and attracted the then ‘Hip. Hop World Award’ and now ‘The Headies’ as he consecutively won the awards four times through 2008-2009. So far, 9ice has owned 6 Headies.
8. Simi, 6 Headies
Simisola Bolatito Kosoko known for her staged name, Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress who started her music career as a gospel singer and walked into the fame of the Nigerian music industry in 2008 with her debut album Ogaju.
Simi earned public commendation in 2014 after releasing “Tiff“, a song that earned her a nomination for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. Simi has been giving out pieces of music tastes for music fans and lovers and has so far had 6 Headies on the record.
7. Wande Coal, 7 Headies
Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, known as Wande Coal, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who attained fame in the entertainment industry as a dancer. After Wande coal was signed into Don Jazzy’s Mo’ hits records in 2006, the rest they say is history.
Wande Coal had featured in D Banj’s Rundown/ Funk you up album before releasing his first single CV album, ‘Ololufe,’ one of the greatest love songs nationwide. The Hip Hop World award blessed him previously in 2010 and he has since then earned 7 Headies so far
6. M.I Abaga, 8 Headies
Jude Lemfani Abaga is uniquely known for his solid stage name, M.I Abaga, famous for his rapping techniques, packed with full punches and easygoing at the same time. M.I Abaga is also a singer and record producer.
M.I started his music career in 2003, starting with the likes of Eedris Abdulkareem and Modenine as well as Ruggednan when he came back to Nigeria. Winning a couple of awards since 2008, especially The Headies, he has been nominated and won mostly the Rap categories but has so far gotten 8 Headies
5. 2face Idibia, 8 Headies
Innocent Ujah Idibia, previously known for his stage name 2Baba before it changed to 2Face has been in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and more. 2Face has been cited as one of the greatest musicians of all time, and he’s widely known for his vocal capacity, lyrical chasm, and longevity since the 2000s.

2Face Idibia made his solo hit with the all-time “African Queen” that ushered new fame for Nigerian music in the continent at large in that era. 2Face has been one of the most awarded musicians in the Nigerian award’s history, at the Headies, had won 5 earlier and three more!
4. Modenine, 9 Headies
Babatunde Olusegun Adewale, popularly known by his stage name Modenine is a Nigerian English-born rapper who has also worked as a radio presenter in Abuja.
Modenine has been a stage performer and has worked together with the likes of Jamaican- American rapper Canibus. Modenine might have ceased to be in the limelight but has gathered 9 Headies awards for his musical works so far.
3. Davido, 10 Headies
David Adedeji Adeleke, aka ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, is known for his stage name; Davido is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Davido music has attributes that blend traditional African aspects with global mainstream pop.

Davido happens to step fast on the pace of fame in the music industry as he won the Next Rated award in 2012 at The Headies after the releasing of the second single, Dami Duro, from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo. Davido had collected 8 Headies for his works and added 2; “Digital Artiste” and “Humanitarian”
2. Olamide, 11 Headies
Olamide Gbenga Adedeji is a Nigerian rapper and singer who happens to be one of the biggest and most influential artistes in Africa. Olamide, who cited himself as the “Yoruba Demon”, often makes his records in Yoruba with an English mix of Rap and lyrical song
Olamide is a record owner and producer and debuted his single album Raspodi in 2011. The Headies recognised his attribute as a street hip hop artiste, his rap styles, and a couple of his albums, especially the “Bad Guy Ever Liveth“. Olamide, who has 11 awards from the headies including the Best Rap Album award at the recent 15th Headies awards
1. Wizkid, 15 Headies
Wizkid is the stage name for Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun. This Nigerian Music superstar stepped into the fame of music artiste with his debut album single “Holla At Your Boy” in 2010. The song was nominated for the Next Rated award at The Headies 2011
Wizkid is also noted to be one of the most influential and great musicians of all time. He had stepped up to gain international recognition globally with his collaborations and music talent listened to and recognised worldwide. At the 15th Headies Awards, his name still shone as one of the most wins in the Headies award history and record as his Headies collections became a surplus with five more in different categories. Wizkid current has 15 Headies award.
